Pasha 2014The Cardinals (2-6, 0-4) fell to the Saint Alban’s on Saturday, 64-42, despite Jamie Pasha and Jeremiah Brooks each putting nine points on the scoreboard.

Bishop Ireton found themselves in a hole early, falling behind 13-2 after one period. Things got better for young redbirds, being outscored 16-13 in the second period,  and 14-13 in the third quarter, but the damage had been done early.

Though the Cardinals had a solid finish, adding 14 points in the final quarter, it wasn’t enough for a comeback.  Pasha led the charge for the Cardinals’s offense, scoring nine points, with three points during the fourth period. He also contributed three rebounds and one steal.

Also chipping in for the Cardinals were Jeremiah Brooks (9 points, 6 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block), Quintin Gilchrest (7 points, 5 rebounds), Chase Hill (6 points, 4 rebounds), Kyle Bethea (4 points, 1 rebound), Andrew Dihn (3 points, 2 rebounds), Joshua Cordoba (2 points) and Darius Hines (2 points, 3 rebounds).

St Albans (6-3) saw three players score in double figures, George Walker had a game-high 16, William Howell 13, and Brandon Galloway 12 for the home team.

The Cardinals finished the game with 35 rebounds (13 offensive/22 defensive), one block and two steals. Next up for Ireton is a trip Saturday to Loudoun County and more Bulldogs, this time at Stone Bridge High School.
