Ireton's Lilly Weber, above, will play on Virginia's national team in Phoenix with classmate Amy Krotine. This spring the pair will travel with their Virginia team to Holland and Belgium for international competition.

Sophomores Amy Krotine and Lilly Weber will participate in a US ODP championship tournament in late February, early March and travel with their Virginia squad to play internationally in Holland and Belgium  during spring break.

The pair, Krotine a goalkeeper and Weber a forward, played for the Virginia squad that captured the regional title earlier this year on the year group 1998.  The team plays a tournament with regional winners from Georgia, Illinois, and southern California. The tournament is set to begin Feb 28th in Phoenix at the Reach 11 Sports Complex.

“This is exciting news for the girls and certainly great news for Bishop Ireton soccer.” said athletic director, Bill Simmons.  “They are great representatives of our School as well as tremendous soccer players. We wish them well and will be rooting for them!”

US Youth Soccer is the original Olympic development program and the only elite player development program that can claim members of the Major League Soccer and National Women’s Soccer League,  as well as a majority of current and past national and youth national team members, as alumni.  With programs in all 55 state associations, as well as regional and national championships and participation in international tournaments, US Youth Soccer ODP continues to offer development and exposure opportunities to any player, regardless of hometown or club affiliation.
