Senior Conor Reilly earned a 7th place in the 36-team St Albans Invitational Saturday. Cardinals end the season with trip to VISAA championships and hope to qualify wrestlers for the National Preps at LeHigh University.

Coach Don Dight’s Cardinals, down a couple experienced wrestlers, grabbed a 23rd place in the 36-team St Albans Tournament over the weekend.

Senior Conor Reilly, at 113, paced the Alexandria school with a 7th place in the two-day affair at St Albans, in the 47th annual event.  Reilly received a bye in the first round, won by technical fall, 17-0 over Cole Christenson of St Johns, before losing to Logan Wilson of DeMatha in the quarterfinals.

Good Counsel of the WCAC won the tournament, Benedictine of Richmond was second.

Next up for Bishop Ireton is the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association’s state championship tournament, hosted by Cape Henry Collegiate School in Virginia Beach.   Wrestling begins on Friday with the championships on Saturday.
