Cardinals bounce back with another road win, 77-68

Bishop Ireton’s Cardinals haven’t seen much of Godley Gym on game day lately, but they aren’t singing the blues after their 5th win in the last six road games over Bishop McNamara’s Mustangs. “It was a great effort by our team coming off the loss at O’Connell. We played together and played a complete game.” commented Ireton’s Patrick Moseh.

Daniel Noe’s 23 points propelled the Cardinals to a 77-68 victory over Bishop McNamara on Sunday. A 15-2 run during the first quarter allowed the Cardinals to break away, eventually claiming a 42-30 lead by halftime.

Noe was the leader of the Cardinals’s offense with 23 points, including eight during the fourth period. Ty Quarles (14 points) and Nicholas Schmelzer (6) each contributed multiple three-pointers. Also scoring for the Cardinals were Patrick Moseh (8 points), Jeremiah Brooks (5) and Michael Everett (3).

News and Notes:

– Cardinals stay in their road red uniforms again Tuesday when they square off with highly regarded Paul VI in Fairfax. Tip off is set for 7:30.

– Senior Patrick Moseh has verbally committed to Wheeling Jesuit. The 6’3″ senior has been one of the Cardinals mainstays for his entire basketball tenure with the Cardinals.

– Senior Day is officially set for Friday, February 14th when Good Counsel visits the Cardinals on the final day of the regular season. Ireton has its final 4 WCAC games in Godley Gym.
