Jamie Senff had a career best 25 points, the Cardinals bolted to a 14-2 first period lead then held on, despite the Rams’ Joe Bynum putting 22 points on the board, for a 64-56 victory in the semifinals of the Bulldog Bash at Westfield High School Saturday.
Trailing 27-17 by the half, Robinson fought back in the third quarter with a 22-16 advantage out of the locker room to trail 43-39 going into the final period. Ireton held off the Fairfax County school with a zone defense and free throw shooting down the stretch.
The Cardinals’s offense was led by Jamie Senft, who scored 25 points, including seven during the fourth period, Pat Moseh had 16, Dan Noe 11, and Ty Quarles 9.
Bynum went 5-for-6 from the line (83%), a solid performance for Robinson . Jared Steen put up two three-pointers and scored 13 points total. Points for Robinson were also put up by Ashrifi Nai-Tetteh (5 points), Brent Yantis (3), Matt Fall (3), Taylor Downey (2), Marshall Cogburn (2) and Joey Powell (2).
