Bishop Ireton’s Preston Haugh travelled to the US Soccer Interregionals at the prestigious IMG academy in Bradenton, Florida and was one of 18 players representing Region 1 (14 states of the east coast) playing against the other three U.S. Regions.
The competition was conducted December 20-22, 2013 for players in the 1998 birth year. The Ireton sophomore was one of the Cardinals’ top performers and a WCAC second team, all conference forward for the 2013 season.
Haugh played for the Arlington Soccer Association in the club leagues as well as one of the Cardinals’ top returning letter winners for 2014.
“Very impressive opportunity for Preston, one where he is well prepared to play exceptionally well. I am very proud of him and excited for one of ‘our guys’ to have the chance to play at that level. Great visibility and opportunity for him to be seen by college and national level coaches.” commented Ireton’s head coach, Jon Norem.
