Ty Quarles’s 15 points propelled the Cardinals to a 52-39 victory over Fairfax High School on Friday. The Cardinals got ahead early with a 12-0 start, only to see the Rebels rebound with an 11-0 run of their own. The Cardinals countered with a 16-point second quarter, racking up a 28-26 lead by halftime.
For the second game in a row, Quarles got the Cardinals off to a great start, putting seven points on the scoreboard in the first period. Alan Liu blazed a trail for Fairfax High School’s offense with 10 points, including six points during the first period. Ireton’s Patrick Moseh was alsol in double figures with 13. Also racking up points for the Cardinals were Jamie Senft (8 points), Daniel Noe (7) and Jeremiah Brooks (4).
Jack Allsopp hit two three-pointers and scored 10 points total. Also putting points on the board for Fairfax High School were Mileek Burns (5 points), Nathan Roberts (4), Reggie Edwards (4), Tre Neal (3) and Robert Yates (3). The visiting Rebels hung in the game with long range shooting, while the bigger Cardinals worked the glass and played a physical inside game.
