Junior Heather Pearson switched from duties as the varsity catcher to the infield and the new surroundings seemed to be much to her liking as the slick fielding, hard hitting Pearson was named to the Washington Post’s all Met honorably mentioned list on Friday, June 7th.
Pearson led the Cardinals in nearly every offensive category and was nearly water tight on defense. Hitting well above .500, she could also hit for power, evidence her game-winning, walk off grand slam home run against Bishop McNamara. The WCAC noticed and selected her to the first team, all conference listing.
Ireton looks for the Alexandria native, daughter of Mr & Mrs. David Pearson, to be an anchor of the 2014 Cardinals as they look for another winning campaign.
