Joseph Bagnerise went 2-4 as the Bishop Ireton Cardinals took home a 3-1 victory over the Gonzaga Eagles in seven innings at Hamilton Field on Saturday. He singled in the first and fifth innings.
Cody Hagenston picked up the win for the Cardinals. Hagenston pitched 5 1/3 innings and allowed one earned run, five hits and one walk while striking out four.
The Eagles scored their only run of the game on an RBI double by Van Hoose in the first inning. Ireton countered and stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the fifth, scoring two runs.
