Bishop Ireton will open the 2012-13 varsity girls basketball season at the familiar Saints Tip Off Tournament Friday, November 30th and will visit Falls Church over the holidays as part of their 28-game regular season schedule announced Saturday by the Cardinals.
Following the two-day season opening St Stephens tourney, the Cardinals visit Flint Hill, Woodrow Wilson, and Georgetown Visitation before returning to Father Godley Gymnasium for their home opener, Saturday, December 8th with Bishop Sullivan. The girls will again head to Middleburg on December 15th.
It will be a busy Christmas for the Cardinals with Archbishop Carroll calls on Godley Gym Sunday, December 23rd, and the Falls Church tourney on Dec 26th and 27th. They will return to WCAC play after the holidays, with only one non-conference match up until possible state playoff action.

Good Counsel on the road is the first game of the new year on Jan 2d, and Fredericksburg Christian hosts Coach Derek Campbell’s squad on Saturday January 12th. The regular season will conclude on Friday, February 15th, when diocesan rivals, Bishop O’Connell make their annual trip to Bishop Ireton.

Freshmen teams return to the schedule for Elizabeth Seton and St Johns, joining the three Virginia Catholics, and Good Counsel. For the doubleheader games, start times are 5 and 7pm.
