In the last meet of Bishop Ireton’s cross country season, the team’s top 22 runners closed out the year at the Virginia Independent Schools State Cross Country Championships at Woodberry Forest.
Senior Katie Necochhea finished first among Cardinals’ girls in 21:14, and finished 16th overall. She was followed by Maggie Lohrer who placed 20th in a time of 21:20. Rounding out Ireton’s top five were Alex Georgi, 22:46, Kaitlin Luzik, 23:20, and Isabelle Wilcox, 23:25.
Duke Roach finished first for Ireton and 24th overall in 18:15, followed by Connor Pearson, 18:31, Michael LoGrande, 19:11, JP Ryan, 19:23, and Sean Pili, 19:36.
Bishop Ireton’s girls placed 9th overall, with Bishop O’Connell taking the top spot. The boys placed 8th, with Trinity Episcopal claiming 1st.
