Cross Country Wraps Up 2012 Season at Independent Schools championships

In the last meet of Bishop Ireton’s cross country season, the team’s top 22 runners closed out the year at the Virginia Independent Schools State Cross Country Championships at Woodberry Forest.

Senior Katie Necochhea finished first among Cardinals’ girls in 21:14, and finished 16^th overall. She was followed by Maggie Lohrer who placed 20^th in a time of 21:20. Rounding out Ireton’s top five were Alex Georgi, 22:46, Kaitlin Luzik, 23:20, and Isabelle Wilcox, 23:25.

Duke Roach finished first for Ireton and 24^th overall in 18:15, followed by Connor Pearson, 18:31, Michael LoGrande, 19:11, JP Ryan, 19:23, and Sean Pili, 19:36.

Bishop Ireton’s girls placed 9^th overall, with Bishop O’Connell taking the top spot. The boys placed 8^th, with Trinity Episcopal claiming 1^st.
