Cross Country Garners Seconds in Catholic states, boys 3rd, girls 4th in WCAC

Cardinals boys finished second it Catholic states, third in WCAC.

At the 2012 Virginia Catholic Schools State Cross Country Championships, Bishop Ireton’s varsity girls team finished 2nd just 8 points behind Paul VI.  Maggie Lohrer placed 3rd in a time of 20:10, with Katie Necochea finishing 4th in 20:17, and Alex Georgi taking 12th in 21:30.  Varsity boys also placed 2nd overall also behind Paul VI.  Duke Roach finished 8th in 17:40, Michael LoGrande placed 9th in 17:42, and Jack Leyden took the 13th spot in 17:50.  Freshman Thomas Ward placed 9th overall in the JV race with a time of 20:21 and Noelle Miranda finished 10th among JV girls in 26:05. 

And at the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference meet at Lake Fairfax, Ireton’s freshman runners placed 5th overall, as did both the JV girls and boys teams (Bishop O’Connell placed 1st for girls and Good Counsel took 1st for boys).  The varsity girls placed two runners in the top twelve, freshman Maggie Lohrer finished 3rd with a time of 21:00 and Katie Necochea placed 12th in 22:08.  Bishop O’Connell took the varsity girls top spot overall, with Ireton finishing 4th.   Connor Pearson placed 10th in a time of 18:16 in  the boys varsity race, and Ireton finished 3rd overall with Gonzaga taking the top spot.
