Coach Mike Blaine's JV boys' lax posted a 6-5 record for the 2012 campaign.

The JV Men’s Lacrosse Cardinals played a complete game to earn a season ending 8-5 win over DeMatha on Fannon Field.

Sophomore Mid Kevin Abbed fed Freshman Attack Justin Fees on the crease during an EMO to take a 1-0 lead.  Less than one minute later, the Face Off earned the ball and Fees scored again with an assist from Freshman Mid Andrew Grabowski.  Sophomore Attack Jimmy Grant fed Freshman Attack Jack Kelly from X for Kelly’s first goal after an injury sidelined him most of the season. Fees completed a 1st quarter hat trick with an assist from Kelly.  The Cardinal defense limited the Stags to 2 shots on goal in the quarter.  BI led 4-0 after one quarter.

The Stags scored early in the 2nd quarter.  Three BI penalties resulted in one DeMatha goal and closed the score to 4-2.  Quick ball movement allowed Fees to feed Grant at 1:03 and again at 28.2. to extend the lead to 6-2.  Soph Attack Mitch Monroe picked up a ground ball near the crease and buried it in the high left corner with 13.7 seconds remaining. Thanks to an aggressive man to man defense led by Soph defensemen Andrew O’Hern, Jerome Dacurawat, Martin Klunder and Ian Rush, Soph Goalie Owen McHugh faced only 5 shots and made 3 saves in the period.   The Cardinals led 7-2 at the half.

Soph Mid Tom Owen scored on an EMO with an assist from Grant in the 1st minute of the 3rd period for an 8-2 lead.  Several failed clears resulted in three
DeMatha  goals.  The defense recovered and held DeMatha scoreless for the last 13 minutes and 12 seconds of the game.

BI controlled the ball in the 4th quarter, including a five shot possession, but could not score.  The defense faced another one minute man down
situation with 6:13 remaining in the game, but did not allow a goal.  The Cardinals kept the ball inside the restraining line for the last three minutes of the game to ensure the 8-5 win.

The Cardinals finished the season with a 6-5 record.
