The Men’s Tennis team has brought news faces this season, allowing the Cardinals to look forward optimistically to a strong spring campaign in the tough WCAC. “We are looking at this season with a positive attitude, hoping for a winning season, and a goal of developing our overall depth with our newcomers.” commented head coach, Katie Sloper-Johnson, as she enters another season at the helm of the boys’ program.
The 2011 Cardinal Award winner Jr. Dax McDonell will lead the Cardinals as the #1 singles players as he gives his experience of the game to a young team. Bishop Ireton expects to be competitive as a team and will use the early part of the season to improve their overall depth, according to the Ireton mentor.
The Cardinals open the 2012 season at home against Bishop McNamara on March 12th. Once again this spring, Ireton will call Carl Sandberg Middle School their home courts, matches beginning at 4pm.
