Bishop Ireton was among 70 schools competing in the 38th annual Georgetown Prep Classic on Oct 15, on one of the most challenging 5K courses in the area. BI performed exceptionally well considering the depth of the competition.
BI Girls placed 5th, competing against 36 other teams with a total of 236 runners in the Varsity unseeded division. Top finishers for BI were junior Katie Necochea in 3rd place, freshman Natalie Irwin 33rd along with Kaitlin Luzik , Aubrey Gartlan, and Catherine Babiec also contributed to BI’s team points.
The BI boys finished in 9th place out of 39 teams and 270 competitors. Finishing 9th for the boys’ team were Senior Liam O’Connor and Nick Manzek in 44th place. Other contributors to the team totals were Connor Pearson, Jack Leyden, and Michael Logrande.
