A very special congratulation is going out to our Varsity Cheerleading team for winning all 3 of the awards given at the Universal Cheerleading Association Summer Camp Competition on August 15th-17th at WT Woodson HS. While holding the 2011 CCA National Title the Varsity BI Cheerleaders are off to another great start for a new season! For the 4th year in a row the Bishop Ireton Varsity Cheerleading Team has taken home the 1st Place trophy at the UCA Camp Competition. The first two days of the camp the teams learn cheers, stunts and routines. On day three, all teams enter a competition to perform what they have learned and compete against the other local high schools attending the camp.
For the fourth year in a row the Bishop Ireton Cheerleading Team took home the 1st place trophy for the cheer competition!
The Universal Cheerleading Association has a tradition that the best team over all wins the “Spirit Banana Award.” It is the most sought-after award and it is given to the team with the most team spirit! Again, for the 4th year in a row the Bishop Ireton Cheerleaders came home with the Spirit Banana Award!
UCA also presented the “Leadership Award”. All of the teams in the competition vote for the one team that is their favorite team to receive the “Leadership Award”. For the 4th year in a row the Bishop Ireton Varsity Cheerleading Team has received the Leadership Award!
We also want to congratulate the 4 girls selected as UCA All-star Cheerleaders. The BI UCA All-stars are Christine Snyder, Haley Silvers, Lizzy Spooner and Niki Morris.
Again this year; the BI Varsity Cheerleading Team is starting out on top! Be sure to congratulate them on all of their continued success and making our school proud!
