Sophomore Kevin Shoop is the Crew's first coxswain invited to US Junior Nationals camp
Kevin Shoop, a Sophomore coxswain for the Bishop Ireton Men’s Rowing Team, was recently invited to train with the United States Junior National Team Development Camp in Pittsburgh, PA over this upcoming summer.
After a long process involving national recruiting camps and countless eligible athletes only a handful of coxswains were invited, including the Ireton sophomore. Shoop will be working to compete for the Development Camp at Summer Youth Nationals and looks to come back to Bishop Ireton next fall with a renewed sense of purpose and a drive to impart any new wisdom on his teammates, suggests the Cardinals’ head coach, Eric Gehrke of the opportunity.
