The Alexandria Sportsman’s Club honored Bishop Ireton junior tennis player Christine Macey recently as the Club’s female Athlete-of-the-Month. The #3 singles player for the Cardinals last fall, Macey was 14-1 in varsity dual meets, made it to the finals of the State tourney, and was named the team’s MVP in the fall.
One highlight of the season was the Cardinals dual meet win over WCAC powerhouse, St Johns in Washington DC. The squad’s 5-4 win stopped a 84-match WCAC winning streak for the Cadets. Her tiebreaker win was a crucial part of the exciting win.
The junior is also active in the School’s award-winning Model UN for the past two years. Macey is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Christopher Macey of Alexandria, Virginia.
