Ireton grabbed the first game 25-20 against Thomas Jefferson High School, stumbled badly in the second and third games, falling 25-12, 25-15 to the Fairfax County public school. The Cardinals rallied in the fourth game, chasing the Colonials to 22-21 when Nailah Ramsey drilled her 4 **** of the match. But the red and blue clad visitors recovered to score 3 of the final 4 points to top the Cardinals 25-22 in Fr Godley Gym in Alexandria Tuesday.
Cardinals return to WCAC action on Thursday when the Panthers of PVI visit Alexandria, JV match is scheduled for 4:30, varsity action is set for 6pm.
