Bishop Ireton High School announces the fifth annual Youth Lacrosse Day V to be held on Saturday April 25th beginning at 10 a.m.
The program includes girls youth lacrosse triple header featuring youth exhibition games between the Alexandria Lacrosse Club, Annandale Lacrosse Club, and Fort Hunt Youth Lacrosse.
Nationally-ranked Bishop Ireton girls host city rival Episcopal High School at 11:30 a.m. in a game that could have state tournament seeding implications. The day concludes with a boys varsity matchup featuring the Bishop Ireton Boys Lacrosse team hosting Episcopal at 3:30 pm.
The theme this year is Lax Day – Where the Stars of Tomorrow Play Today.
“The response each year is tremendous from the youth program commissioners and it is a great day to showcase the very best talent in the area along side some of the top high school players in the region” according to Bill Simmons, Athletic Director at Bishop Ireton. “This is a special day centered on respect for the game, the players, families, coaches and volunteers who have been responsible for the phenomenal growth of lacrosse in Northern Virginia – all in a positive, festive atmosphere.”
In addition to the competition on the field, there are a variety of vendors, souvenir T-shirts, food, raffles and door prizes awarded throughout the day.

10:00 am Annandale Youth Lacrosse vs. Fort Hunt Youth Lacrosse (U15A)
11:30 am Bishop Ireton Girls vs. Episcopal
1:00 pm Alexandria Lacrosse Club vs. Annandale Youth Lacrosse (U13A)
2:15 pm Fort Hunt Youth Lacrosse vs. Annandale Youth Lacrosse (U15B)
3:30 pm Bishop Ireton Boys vs. Episcopal
All games will be played at Fannon Field on the Bishop Ireton campus located at 201 Cambridge Road, Alexandria, VA, 22314. Visitors are encouraged to park in the school’s main parking lot and refrain from parking on Cambridge Road or neighborhood streets.
