Sophomore Erin Rockwell tossed a shutout at Westside High School of Clear Fork, West Virginia, Monday in a 6-0 win at the Grand Strand Softball Tournament in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
The young hurler helped her own cause with a 4 for 4 afternoon, hitting for the cycle in the tournament’s opening contest.
Ireton celebrated with a late afternoon trip to the beach, but won’t get a chance to “stay up late” as the team squares off with Auburn High School Tuesday at 8am.
The win improved the Cardinals to 4-7 on the year.
