The Bishop Ireton JV Men’s Lacrosse team played a determined game against the Gonzaga Eagles on Fannon Field on Saturday, but lost 12-0. Short handed due to academic commitments and illness, the Cardinals fought throughout the game, but had difficulty mounting an effective offense.
Sophomore Defensemen Declan Sofield played very well, harassing opponents and causing turnovers throughout the game. Sophomore Defenseman Alex Byrd, who had never played goalie until Wednesday’s practice, played an excellent game in goal, making 10 saves.
The Cardinals face St. Mary’s Ryken this Thursday on Fannon Field. Gametime is slated for approximately 5:30pm
