Bishop Ireton hall of fame football and baseball player, Charles “Charley” Attiliis, died December 18th at his home in Occoquan.  He was 61 years old.

Attiliis was a star for the Cardinals as a quarterback on the football as well as on the baseball diamond. A 1971 graduate of Bishop Ireton and an accounting major graduating from George Mason University, he was inducted in the School’s Hall of Fame in the fall of 2012.

He was the owner of Attiliis and Associates, a local accounting firm, for more than 35 years. He remained a loyal alumnus of Bishop Ireton, supporting the Cardinals on and off the field.

A funeral Mass for Mr. Attiliis  was celebrated on Monday, December 22nd at St Rita’s Catholic Church. The family requests memorial contributions be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
