Juniors Grace Hersey and Lilly Weber each scored twice as Bishop Ireton rebounded from a 2-1 deficit to win 4-2 at home over Elizabeth Seton.
The Roadrunners scored the game’s opening goal, the Cardinals tied it at 1-1. The Bladensburg squad pulled back into the lead at 2-1 before Ireton regrouped at halftime and tallied the game’s final 3 goals.
“We looked very good, at times.” commented head coach, Gino Leon. “This is a good Elizabeth Seton team, give them credit. But we had a number of chances where we just couldn’t take advantage of the opportunity.”
The win propelled the Cardinals to 2-0 in the WCAC. Ireton will face Archbishop Spalding in a non conference tilt before traveling to Leonardtown to return to conference play at St Mary’s Ryken.
