A Commit to Liberty University!

Bishop Ireton is thrilled to have a student who has verbally committed!

Grace Fletcher is a junior and she has recently committed to Liberty University for lacrosse. She is now the eighth person on the BI Girls Lacrosse team to commit to a school. Grace is ecstatic to be part of Liberty’s team and is so far the only lax recruit to this school. Liberty is a Division 1 school and plays against schools like Navy, Elon, High Point, and Costal Carolina.

Although Grace is committed, she still has two years of high school left. In the fall, she plays varsity field hockey to stay conditioned for lacrosse. During the summer, fall, and winter, she does workout with her lacrosse team to get ready for the spring season. Grace also plays for Capital Lacrosse Club that runs from August through July. It was through Capital Lacrosse that Liberty noticed her. They came to some of the same lacrosse tournaments that Grace and her team did and Liberty was interested in her. Grace decided to go and see Liberty’s campus and from the moment she set foot there, she fell in love.”There are some main reason why I fell in love with Liberty,” explained Grace, “They have new facilities, a great community and athletic support, the lacrosse team is improving every day, and they have great coaches who I am looking forward to working with.” The head coach at Liberty is Kelly Nangle and the assistant coaches are Meghan Harkey and Annie McGinley. So far there is only one person there that she knows will be playing with her who will be a senior at the same time she is a freshman.

Grace would lastly like to thank some people for getting her here in her life and making her the person she is today. She would first like to thank her Capital Lacrosse Coach Christina, and then her high school lacrosse coach Rick Sofield. Lastly she would like to thank her parents who have supported her this whole way.

Good luck to Grace in her upcoming school season. Bishop Ireton is looking forward to see her amazing goals and smart playing later this spring.
