Gridders Head to Football Summer Camps

Coach Tony Verducci sees a bright football future for junior Andre Robinson (left) and sophomore Trey Lovisone (right) who recently attended a national level high school football camp in New England.

Three Bishop Ireton football players spent a part of their summer vacation getting ready for the 2013 campaign and impressing a good number of college coaches in the process.

Junior Andre Robinson and sophomore Trey Lovisone wrapped up weeklong camps with USA Football in Dartmouth, MA.  Senior Hudson Sullivan took part in the National Camp in Austin, Texas, earlier this month.  Coach Tony Verducci nominated them for these camps and they were selected after a demanding screening process.   Said Verducci, “I expect all of them to be team leaders and key contributors this year!”

The Ireton skipper elaborated on his comments about the players, “Andre Robinson and Trey Lovisone have benefitted from the great example that Hudson set for our student-athletes.  Bishop Ireton football players who welcome as significant a challenge on the football field as they do in our classrooms are finding the USA football provides a great individual learning experience.”

For the rising senior, the experience undoubtedly helped Sullivan in the process of potentially playing college football according to Verducci, “Hudson Sullivan is an outstanding student-athlete who has really opened the eyes of college football coaches by his performance in the classroom, on the football field, and in his workouts.  We are proud of the fact that Ivy League schools and other outstanding academic institutions agree that Hudson is well-prepared to shine academically and athletically as a college football player.”
