Freshman distance runner Isabel Wilcox was Ireton's highest placing individual runner in the 2013 WCAC track & field championships at Good Counsel.

Bishop McNamara and DeMatha, a pair of WCAC track heavyweights, tied for the 2013 boys track and field champion, while favored Elizabeth Seton edged McNamara on the girls side of the meet to repeat as Conference champions at the annual gathering at Olney, Maryland’s Our Lady of Good Counsel.  The Cardinals girls’ team finished 9th while the boys were 10th.

Freshman Isabelle Wilcox got the Ireton girls on the board with her 8th place finish in the varsity 3200 meter run in a time of 12:30.55.  The girls captured their other scoring opportunity with a 5th place finish in the 4×100 relay.  The team of freshman Gabrielle Hall, sophomore Christiana Grant, junior Capri Puglise, and senior Nicole Bond toured the oval in a time of :52.54.

The boys team, a largely underclassmen crew, were kept off the scoreboard until the Cardinals 4x100meter relay team of frosh Michael Taye, juniors Wossen Bekalu and Joseph Sardegna, and senior Brandon Price-Williams  logged a respectable :49.24 time, good for a 7th place finish.
